The neighborhood
Most amenities are just a short walk away. Shops, restaurants, take aways and bus stop are only 100 meters away. The Royal hospital is in 5 minutes walking distance away.
The bus stop (100 meters) brings you within a few minutes into the city centre or the University Metro station, which takes you straight to Newcastle and Newcastle airport. The ‘University’ Metro station is only 5 minutes with the bus or 10 minutes walk away. Public transport is really good, so travel to Newcastle or Durham is easy. However, late at night there is only the option of taxis. A taxi from Newcastle would cost around £30.
Sunderland
As a city break, Sunderland is a good option. There are lovely beaches and plenty to see and do, including a 7th century St. Peter’s church, Penshaw Monument and the National Glass Centre. Or the Empire Theatre and the Stadium of Light – great for the football and concerts. We are also very close to the Royal hospital and the Chester Road campus of Sunderland Univeristy.
